With a bookring, the book goes out in a "ring", returning to you.
With a bookray, the book continues on... last person can start a new ring/ray
or wild release it, whatever.
To set one up, make a journal entry that you have started a bookring/ray.
Post it in the yahoo groups and in the forum (be sure to include your BC name
so people can find you!) Have people PM you with their location and shipping
preferences. Then you update your journal entry with the participants. Everyone
one does it a bit different. Read someone else's journal entries to see how
they do it. I like to set mine up so they move smoothly geographically. Saves
time if it doesn't bounces back and forth from coast to coast. Also, state if
it is US only, Canada only, Europe only, etc. or International for example.
This helps people to decide to join or not. As the book moves among the
participants, update the bookring/ray journal entry. This helps people to see
where the book is currently at a glance.
If it is a ring, be prepared to "let go" if it doesn't come back to you. My
only ring didn't make it back to me. Others have their book come back to them,
only to send out again on another ring! How exciting! Have fun with it.

I have a couple of books that seem to be on a lot of Wish Lists:
* Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister by Gregory Maguire
* The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
It seems to me that the best way to get these books to everybody who
wants them is for each person to commit to send it on, after reading,
to someone else who wants it -- the way I think your BookRings are set
up to work. :) Or, since I don't mind if I don't get the books back,
is it a BookRay that i want to set up?
And how do I get started?
