Will anyone join me in wild-releasing a book or books on this day? It needn't overtly about Peace--for example, "The Diary of Anne Frank " would be a good release, as would books by or about Ghandi or King (other ideas below).
I ask that you post your (intended) release(s) on the forum page http://www.bookcrossing.com/forum/23/4556566 --I think this helps people realize the variety that can be released, and hopefully some will think ,"Oh, I can release____" And discussion--here and/or there- about possibles is always welcome. Also, in both the book and the journal please put a notation that they are being released in honor/memory of the people of Hiroshima. you may wish to include these (or other )urls as well, or simply take a look through them. Hiroshima Peace Ceremony http://www.city.hiroshima.jp/---/shikiten-e.html Hiroshima Peace Institute http://serv.peace.hiroshima-cu.ac.jp/---/index.html Hiroshima Peace Site/Peace Memorial Museum http://www.pcf.city.hiroshima.jp/top_e.html The first book I have to release is "The Big Book for Peace," a collection of poems and stories for young readers (with a peaceful Sendak 'Wild Thing' on the cover). http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/5279577 ***************. been going thru my shelves, and decided Ursula K LeGuin's EYE OF THE HERON has been mine long enough (g) and is a good release for this challenge http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/5280357 See- releases needn't even be non-fiction! .* also found "Three Cups of Tea: One Man's Mission to Promote Peace. .. One School at a Time" http://www.bookcrossing.com/---/J_8713772 in my tbr pile-- time to read it now to release. Hmmm--this one will make a good excuse to go to the Beehive Tea Room for a cuppa and decadent dessert(vbg). .
