Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Sony's e-reader much less proprietory? My (college) son has one, and he downloads free books from Project Gutenberg and other sources.
I want Sony because of the easy-on-the-migraines e-paper, but neither of these readers is backlit for people who want to read in bed - does anyone know of competition that with flickerless lit screen, or viewing options, or whatever? I read several of Amazon's articles and reviews and agree with the one who said 'give away the razor and sell the blades' - Kindle is awfully expensive for a niche-filler. Who has what reader and what do you like and dislike about yours?
