And to know how you suffered through the ordeal only to bring that to your daughters. I can't imagine. But I guess they did it because the smaller the foot, the better marriage. Can you imagine a guy who would marry you because of the size of the foot? Most of them married sight unseen, just from a shoe that was brought to them. Glad I didn't live back then or in that country. Those women really suffered. We probably have some weird customs here but I can't think of anything that cruel. : )
