Wow, a pretty good month for me! I read 6 books and listened to 2 for a total
of 8 books this month!

Prisoner of Hope - Dayna Curry and Heather Mercer - NF - B This was the story
of two women who decided to go to Afghanistan before 9/11. They went with a
group from their church from Waco, Texas. They weren't to try and convert the
people nor were they to visit in their homes. They did all of it and were taken
prisoner. I think they meant well but weren't very smart in the way they did
it.

The Witch's Grave - Phillip DePoy - B+ This was a first time author for me and
I very much enjoyed the authors prose. This was kind of a supernatural mystery.
I will read more by this author.

Ring of Lies - Victoria Howard - A This was a freebie on kindle. Grace's
husband dies in an auto accident in England. When she goes to the solicitor to
settle the estate, she finds that her husband left her a beach home in America.
She knows they barely made ends meet in England so decides to go to America and
see what other secrets he had.

The Chaperone - Laura Morarty - A Six year old Cora is sent from the orphanage
on an orphan train from New York City to Kansas where she is taken in by a kind
couple. When they die unexpectedly, she is helped by a lawyer from Witchita to
get her inheritance. When she is 17 Alan marries her. She volunteers to be a
chaperone for Louise Brooks, a 15 year old girl who is trying out for a dance
troupe in New York.

Son of a Gun - Justin St. Germain - NF - A I won this one from Goodreads. It's
a memoir about Justin who is in college living with his brother when a call
comes in that their mother has been murdered by her 5th husband. It was a good
book.

Off the Grid - P J Tracy - B+ Grace is sailing with John Smith and feels safe
for the first time since she can remember. While she's in bed that night, she
hears footsteps on deck and goes to check it out. She sees two men with a knife
to Smith's throat. She takes care of the problem and contacts the rest of the
Monkeywrench team to look into who the men were. What they find is very
frightening.

AUDIO:

The Story Sisters - Alice Hoffman - A This is a coming of age story of 3
sisters who are very close. When something bad happens to the oldest girl,
everything changes.

The Last Confession - Solomon Jones - B+ This was a good mystery about a priest
who is on death row for some murders in his church. All these years he has
proclaimed his innocence and Coletti, the cop who put him away is now believing
him.
