Can't believe another month gone! I read 4 books this month and listened to 1 for a total of 5:
Goody, Goody Gunshots - Sammi Carter - B+ I enjoy these cozies that take place in a valley in Colorado. Matched - Ally Condie - A - YA - Imagine you live in a society where everything is decided for you (sounds a little too real at the moment) including your spouse. Cassia's mate has been chosen but another face appears on the screen also, then disappears. The officials say it was a mistake and the first was her intended but Cassia is drawn to Ky, the second person. What Matters Most - Bette Lee Crosby - A - very cute story about Louise and Clay who have been married for 30 years and raised their children. They live close to their son and granddaughter and Louise is very happy in New Jersey. One day Clay receives a letter from his Uncle's attorney. The Uncle has died and left his property in Florida to Clay. He decides to retire and he and Louise will move! Louise is thunderstruck and doesn't want to go. Starvation Lake - Bryan Gruley - A - (audio) A snowmobile has been discovered in a lake. The machine belongs to a coach who died 10 years ago, but was thought to have drowned on a different lake. Gus played on coach's hockey team as a teen and is now the editor of the local small town newspaper. He starts looking into the case when a bullet hole is found in the snowmobile. The Dressmaker of Khair Khan - Gayle Tzemack Lemmon - B- - This nonfiction book is the story of a young woman and her sisters who start a dressmaking business out of their home after the Taliban take over Afghanistan.
