It is unpaid work and I for one certainly appreciate it. I have had great responses to a lot of my requests and I have also enjoyed the responses and camaraderie that have come out of my postings of book industry topics. One of my aims for my stint as a chairperson was to open up the book community and get us talking to each other, lighten the mood a little and take some of the "stiffness/formality" out of the trade.
