I checked the power cord and could not find any places where motion
would cause an open. I looked at the power plug under a microscope and
saw some residue which I cleaned but no distortion of the metal.

I took my radio apart and did not find the jack loose or unsoldered.
However, on close inspection I found the nickel plating missing at the
contact point for the barrel (poor nickel adhesion, exposed base metal,
no extraordinary corrosion). I cleaned the inside of the jack with a
IPA on a cotton swab and more of the plating came off. It easily lifts
off without any significant force.

Evidently the Boom has a manufacturing quality issue due to their source
of power jacks used in the units. Plating should not come loose freely
like this.

Cleaning/Deoxit may improve the connection enough that replacement isn't
necessary. That's what I'm counting on.
