As far as English is concerned I'll leave the response to people who have studied in an English-speaking country, however I would be surprised if your rules *required* a comma before "except" in absence of the parenthetical phrase. Secondly, the comma just before "the maybe state" is definitely an error in Italian but, again, I'll leave to you to say if the same thing holds for English. The above notes would be of course off-topic in themselves but I think they aren't in this context, as they are meant as a rationale for proposing a correction to existing boost documentation.
