I have a need for a parallel HTTP client. Has anyone used either of
these:
LWP::Parallel (8th May 2000)

LWPng ("next generation", 2th April 1999)
http://search.cpan.org/search?dist=LWPng-alpha
The README in the latest LWP (Jan, 2001) says that LWPng is just
around the corner, even though it doesn't look like it's been touched
in a long time. (The official LWP site has an even older version of
LWPng.)
I'm also curious to know if these packages have been obsoleted by
Perl's own threading, assuming LWP is threadsafe (though I'm guessing
it isn't, as it uses, or did use signals).
I haven't searched the LWP mailing list archives yet, but I'll do that
next.
