right now i'm working on setting up Perl Mongers, which will be an
organization that helps user groups become established. It will be a
centralized sort of thing but allow the maximum flexibility for the local
groups. some of the things we're planning are

        * providing Perl Mongers merchandise for re-sell or give-away
        * assistance with non-profit/tax-exempt issues
        * cetralized indices of user groups across the world

it bascially all of the boring parts of the process.

Go ahead and start Boston.pm (or whatever you want to call it) and we can
work out the Perl Mongers details later. the sooner you can get a core
group of people the better :)

Perl Mongers should be operational within the next couple of months, so
i'l have more details soon...

good luck!

would you like boston.pm.org? i maintain the pm.org domain, and would
like to organize as many user groups as possible under pm.org. nothing
comes with it, so you have to supply the machine and so on. we add the
appropriate entries to our DNS.

All Boston-area people ... I don't have many tuits lying around, but I
think it would be cool to get a Boston Perl Mongers group going. If
anyone is interested, drop me a line. See http://ny.pm.org/ for an
example of how NY is doing it. They will give us the boston.pm.org name
if we want it, too.

As long as there's no spelling requirement. ;)

My prefered email is [EMAIL PROTECTED]
My phone is 617 xxx xxxx, but I'm usually dialing out.
You can leave a message in voice mail hell.

It would be cool if this thing really came together.
