The unix sysadmin didn't know why, but he says it happens to him as well... i'd
like to know why, but it's not worth spending the time on it at this moment.
When i do find out what it is, i'll make sure to notify the list.

You should still be able to put that on the shebang path, though:
#!/opt/perl/bin/perl
If this doesn't work, I'd sure like to know why.
