From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: 17 Feb 2002 11:03:59 -0800 Subject: activestate perl To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] all right, so I tried to compile a "hello world" perl script on Win98 using ActiveState perl and the "perlcc" command but I got the blue screen of death. A little digging on activestate website looks like I need to pay for the Perl Developers Kit 4.0 ($200) so that I can use the "PerlApp" program. my question is this: has anyone used Perl Dev Kit 4.0 and PerlApp??? Is that all I need??? or do I need to get that plus a compiler (or god knows what else) to actually make the bloody thing work? I'd rather not shell out $200 and find out it doesn't compile the perl script I need it to compile. Perl Dev Kit does have a 7 day trial license, which may allow me to try out PerlApp on my perl script. The problem with that is my perl script doesn't exist yet. I'd like to know if there'll be some cheese at the end before I go too far down the tunnel. Thanks in advance, Greg "In spite of my rage, I'm still just a rat in a cage" London
