I don't have a white-paper to point to, but we did just add some Linux machines to our compute farm here at work.
dual processor Athlon 1.8 Ghz running Redhat7.2 versus dual processor Sun Blade running Sun Solaris The Redhat machines are 2 to 3 times faster than the Sun Blade's. which is pretty cool, but then throw in that the Redhat machines are 3k and the Blades cost 30k. Greg "Oh yes, its vairrry niiice"
