Release Engineering & Operations - Concord, MA USA

Key Responsibilities

* Own and drive the implementation and quality of the release engineering,
  deployment, and operations frameworks for all partner integrations

* In charge of specific production application infrastructures and
  component deployments

* In conjunction with other engineers, rotate through 1st level production
  support for applications and 2nd level production support for hardware or
  network issues

* Write architecture and component design documents

* Scope engineering tasks and resources

Works With

* Chief architect for overall kayak platform standards

* Core Infrastructure architect to drive release engineering,
  deployment, and operations strategy, direction, and processes

* QA Manager to map out production testing strategies (stress testing,
  destructive testing, etc.), as well as all aspects of product release
  schedules and maintenance

* This position reports to our Operations Manager in Concord, MA USA

Candidate Attributes

* Detail-oriented, prioritizing and concentrating on key
  systems/components/architectures

  troubleshooting

Candidate Experience

* Bachelor's degree in computer science, or equivalent educational
  background

* 4+ years experience running release engineering, deployment, and/or
  operations in a High Availability environment

* Strong Unix, Apache, and Perl skills a must

* Tomcat or related Java Servlet experience a plus

* Good understanding of Database setup and configuration; experience with
  MySQL a plus

* Detailed knowledge of Network protocols and LAN technology (HTTP,
  XML, Firewalls, Routers, etc.)

* Experience with various automation tools, such as software distribution
  and system monitoring

* Strong experience deploying mass-market consumer production software
  utilizing multi-tier architectures

* Strong background in consumer websites
