I would like to promote something, if I can make it to the meeting tonight I
can repeat this information as well with maybe some more details. But for now I
can put the basics in writing.

Since Summer 2024 there is a new publication Science Perl Journal
https://science.perlcommunity.org/spj The first issue was mainly a proceedings
style publishing of the TPRC 2024 Science Track talks. (of which I was an
author, and I also have some nominal involvement in other related activies for
full disclosure)

The second issue is in preparation and is a similar proceedings style
publication of talks given at the Perl Community Conference which was held in
Austin (also also virtually) this past summer.

If you are interested in writing an article for SPJ or the Journal of Open
Source Software (JOSS) please join the discussion held on Discord in the #joss
channel. Https://discord.gg/VAyGCEjP<https://discord.gg/VAyGCEjP> I have no
connection with JOSS directly, however there is a current effort to promote the
publishing of more Perl content there, with the idea that extended versions of
those papers could make it into special edition volumes of SPJ.

Best Regards,
Adam
