The netstat was done at 10:AM on Friday Feb 3rd 2006. I do not know very much about the software that installed the controller. It was an exe the user had downloaded onto his laptop. The machine was formatted and re-installed. I did the netstat before shutting it down just for fun. It took about 5 mins to complete. Our volume of users does not allow us to be too analytical as we're too busy. We just ID the problem do some basic notifying (campus security office, etc) and then reformat... here is a post I made to a public campus IT list an hour after taking the machine offline... it basically says the same thing I posted here: http://listserv.vt.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind0602&L=techsupport&T=0&F=&S=&P=4556 Wish I could offer more info... sorry.
