I contacted some of them back, as an "interested spammer" fed up with being shut down all the time. The person I contacted was in China, and I had an email dialog with this individual, who told me that China has an agreement with Brazil in hosting some of these spam crapheads. Seems that China is spending lots of money setting up servers in Brazil because the Chinese govt is finally cracking down on spammage (good for them). It's possible to infiltrate these networks provided one is fluent in the language used by the spammers and botnet operators. If anyone on this list speaks Russian, they should talk to me, and I might still have the IRC servers they hang out in. Some of these servers are market places for buying and selling Botnets, and these people are very good at hiding their activities by not speaking English, and being very discrete. I also heard reports that ckync.com is a Russian Dynamic DNS server, changing IP addresses dynamically as spam trends change. Making it all but impossible to shut down these "bullet proof hosted web sites" by using other ports then 80 and 443.
