As part of the its mission to eliminate racism, the YWCA will host a two day Unlearning Racism seminar, April 7-8, facilitated by Lee Mun Wah, internationally acclaimed diversity lecturer and trainer, filmmaker, community therapist and more.  Lee Mun Wah is best know for his films "The Color of Fear" and "Last Chance for Eden" dealing with racism in America.

YWCA Public Policy co-chair Suzie Helburn had the unique opportunity to attend a similar training with Lee Mun Wah in Wyoming. His ability to take anti-racism training to the next level through interactive activities that focus on individual experiences and the way he facilitates a group of strangers to foster a truly safe environment for conversations about deeply personal and emotional topics is remarkable.

In addition to the seminar, the YWCA will also host an evening community conversation with Mr. Mun Wah on April 6th from 6:00-9:00 pm, which will include clips from his films and facilitated discussion and activities.  So often we hesitate to begin a conversation with someone who is different from ourselves because we are afraid we might say or do something offensive or inappropriate.  At this evening presentation, Lee Mun Wah will share ways with us to begin that journey through what he calls "An Unfinished Conversation."

**Note--the location for both events is the Jewish Community Center, 3800 Kalmia Avenue, Boulder.

As you know, this conversation is timely and needed in our community.  Please help the YWCA get the word out about this event by forwarding this information to anyone you think might be interested. I hope that you all will consider attending.

If you would like more information, please email or call me and I can send you flyers with details about how to register for each event.
