Hi all,

Re: my assignment - It would seem that we are a fairly unique group in the state. I’ve talked to a few people in Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Durango, and Ft. Collins – each told me of groups they were aware of working to address emerging trends and/or management issues in the nonprofit arena, but none seem to take it to the policy level. Durango is working on a health care funding initiative (I am trying to get more details) but no one knew of any current discussion around immigrant legislation.

There was some good information that came out of my meeting with funders in Denver, though the interest from that side really focuses on a long-term public education campaign, with much less comfort around specific legislation efforts. A few statewide immigrant rights groups were at the meeting, and they, too, are developing messaging/communication.

I would be happy to provide more details on my research at the next meeting – be that on the 3rd or the 10th – both work for me at this point.

Thanks,

Morgan

I agree we should wait until May to change it to the first Monday of the month.

I was reminded this a.m. that we had discussed moving our meetings to the first Monday of the month.  Unfortunately, I am now scheduled to be out of town on April 3.  Would there be a volunteer to run the meeting on the 3rd, or should we keep it on the 10th for the time being and switch it after April (I suspect that others, like me, are still away on Spring Break on the 3rd)

Please respond to the group and let me know your thought AND your agenda ideas – one being to elect a new Chairperson.

Susan
