Hello,

I'm writing you today to remind you to vote YES on 1A
and encourage your friends and colleagues to do the
same. As you may know, 1A is the Transit and Trails
ballot initiative for Boulder County. You'll have to
dig deep in this years crowded ballot to find it, but
it may be one of the most important things you can do
to ensure that Boulder County has great public
transit, a world class trails system, and clean air.

Years from now we're going to look back at 1A as one
of those historic
initiatives that massively improved Boulder County for
generations to come. Because the Transit and Trails
initiative has faced some challenging press coverage,
we need to step up as individuals and tell our friends
and colleagues about this issue. A grass roots word
of mouth campaign is our best chance to ensure victory
for 1A now!

Briefly, 1A will create a more convenient and
integrated transit network that connects all of our
communities. It will bring new or enhanced
fixed-route transit, new and enhanced call-n-Ride
centers, improved paratransit for seniors and the
disabled, more bikepaths and trails for commuting and
recreation, an expanded EcoPass program to make
transit use more convenient and cost effective, and
cleaner air by reducing the number of cars on the road
and requiring new hybrid electric or alternative fuel
buses. And all this for 2 cents on a $10 purchase,
excluding food and medicine.

For extensive information on the Transit and Trails
initiative, including maps of the expanded services,

I hope you will join me, nearly every mayor in the
County, and organizations as diverse as PLAN-Boulder
County, the Boulder Area Trails Coalition, the Sierra
Club, the League of Women Voters, and the Human
Services Alliance in voting YES on 1A!

Please pass this email along to your friends or
colleagues that have an interest in keeping Boulder
County ahead of the curve.

Thanks,

David Bolin
