Dear Boulder County Election Review Committee:

As a retired computer professional with almost 40 years of software experience, I have absolutely no confidence in elections run by private companies using proprietary software.  In my long career, I have seen myriad careless/inadvertent errors - plus a few cases of malicious tampering - that undermined the integrity and/or reliability of a wide range of computer systems, both public and private.

We the People deserve voting mechanisms that are above reproach!  Our democratic processes are too important to be relegated to secret software.

I am greatly concerned about Boulder County's election process.  I volunteered to help hand-count last November's election and, to help ensure honest elections, I would gladly volunteer my time and computer expertise in the future as well.

Thank you in advance for your consideration of this matter.

Sincerely,

Mary Forthofer
