I would like to state my lack of confidence in any voting system that does
not have a verifiable paper trail and public source code. This means that
private for-profit voting machine companies are unlikely to be viable
sources to contract with. There was enough corruption in the last three
elections nationwide, Boulder should do what it can to avoid even the
appearance or possibility of voting fraud. Private companies with political
affiliations of their own will universally decrease confidence in the
fairness of our voting system.
