That doesn't seem like wanted behaviour. Is your pastebin configured to use the default bpaste pastebin and if so, you could try to work around it now by configuring a different pastebin either straight through XMLRPC or `pastebinit`.
I'll look into what we can do on our side but it will always involve a timeout and another notification which is also a bit "meh" if you've continued working and 30 seconds later it turns out your paste failed.
