Hello, I have a BN QT 18 cell and mine does the same thing. What happens is when you plug in the adapter and either close the case lid or press a key by mistake the display and speech go haywire. All you need to do is turn on the unit and turn it off again. Once you do this the display will go blank and your speech will turn off as well. I hope this helps. Tiffany
