Well, of course one could go out and buy a laptop and have all a computer's functionality. It's that reality that makes the whole continuing marketing of these notetakers questionable, and why they need to be special market targeted to meet our specific needs and wants. This is why Humanware hopefully listens to the discussions here to better their products.
Personally I bought the vtqt for the fun of the gps which turns out to have such goofy maps for our area it is not of much use. Still it is fun to have and a nice conversation piece. As a notetaker I am replacing a Transtype with a far better keyboard an much simpler word processing, but with dead batteries that cannot be replaced because of Artic's failure to consider this need in their proprietary design. The Braillenote family has many good features and is certainly preferable to a notebook computer for many uses. This does not mean discussion is out of line to try to make it better and more useful for the special market it carries. > ----- Orig
