I'm truly sorry to hear about the untimely death of Dr. Smith and his wife.
I never had the privilege of meeting him personally, but I did try out the sonic guide in the late 1970s. Unfortunately, I had to start wearing hearing aids shortly thereafter and never could figure out a way to make the two compatible. If I could have, I would have had the sonic guide in a heart beat. Instead I had to settle for the Mowat which I use to this day. Pulsedata or should I say Humanware has really undergone huge changes from those days and I hope the present direction and focus the company now has will continue for a very long time. It really is a credit to Dr. Smith that he has been able to shape a company which can maintain the bottom line of profitability while remaining sensitive to the situation which so many blind people face today.
