Hello Cindy:

Truthfully, unless you have some information before walking into a public
wireless spot, there is no way to tell whether or not it will be free.
Normally, once you've connected with a network, the first thing you'll do is to
go to your browser function. You'll usually be given a page that will either
ask you to agree to the termsw of use for the local network, or tell you how to
insert your credit card. Once you've done it a few times, you'll see how easy
it is. The only bad part is that sometimes its so easy to connect that it
becomes very addicting to just take out your credit card and pay the "Nominal"
charge. As an FYI, the Lubbock International Airport is free, but Dallas Fort
Worth is deffinitely NOT.

The MPower and 6.11 classics give you a way to scan for wireless networks in
your immediate area. So, when I go into an airport, for example, I'll turn on
my wireless function, scan for a network and if found, try and connect with it.
Normally, when the MPower finds a wireless network, it gives you the chance to
fill in information about it once you connect. in 99% of the situations, just
agree with all of the prompts you are presented with.

Jeff
