I'm more than happy to be corrected by Dean if what I'm saying here is
wrong, but surely, if you have a desktop machine running, say, XP, you could
download an upgrade patch into a folder on the XP machine whose permissions
are set to offer shared access. Then, simply get your BN device to connect
to that shared folder over either Ethernet or ActiveSync and run the
executable from the BN device whichever one it is you're upgrading. For
instance, when the upgrade patch came out for the PK, I simply downloaded
the patch into a shared folder on my desktop machine, brought the PK onto my
home LAN via a wireless connection and ran the executable from the PK, the
install file being located on a hard drive of my desktop machine. It worked
absolutely fine!

Paul.
