Hello Kelly:

A router's main function is to split the inbound signal from your modem
several ways allowing more than one computer or other device such as a
BrailleNote to access the internet at the same time. In order to have more
than just your computer access that cable modem, you will need a router and
some way to access that router with your BrailleNote. If you are using a
BrailleNote with Keysoft 5.1 or earlier, you will need a low powered
Ethernet adapter which will plug into your Braille Note's rear compact flash
slot and then allow an Ethernet cable to be connected between the
BrailleNote and the router. If you have Keysoft 6.1 or later, you can use a
wireless card, assuming you buy a router with wireless capability, or the
same low powered Ethernet adapter mentioned above.

you can obtain a router from most retail electronics stores for around $60
U.S. and you will find lots of help on this list to help you get it set up.

Jeff
