Hi Everyone,
I posted about this a few days ago but received no responses. I'm trying to
use the online catalog on the NLS site. The address is
www.loc.gov/nls
Go under the search the online catalog section to find out where I'm talking
about. I used to have no problems using it when I was running KS 5.1 but
whatever. I'm not blaming KS 6.11 but it seems strange to me that this used to
work without any problems and now it doesn't work. Maybe there's a new step
I'm missing?
I have trouble with the combo boxes for the location and the material type. I
tried pressing space with dots 4-6 and backspace with dots 1-3 and that didn't
do anything. It checks the word all first in the location list and the
material type lists. All is the first word in each of these lists. I am not
allowed to choose any other choices in the list although the lists are
presented to me. I was thinking the way I used to select an item in a combo
box was to press enter on it. I got those chord commands that I mentioned
above from the manual and thought they were helping.
I'm just concerned something was changed with the upgrade that may not have
been included in the manual. Maybe I've forgotten how to select information in
combo boxes? This is confusing and frustrating. I wanted to download a book
for work.
I have not tried to use combo boxes on other Web sites if it doesn't work on
NLS I'm guessing it won't work on other sites. Maybe that's a negative
attitude but when something used to work so simply and now the sameproceedure
appears not to be applicable it just doesn't make sense.
Any ideas would be apreciated. Sorry if I seem to be complaining.
