Kim,
I think that something you have to remember is the prices of these units. No one can take a decision to purchase any of these lightly, as they cost upwards of 4000 dollars for just one. So from the perspective of someone who's already bought a unit, if you're criticizing that unit you are also criticizing that person's decision to buy that unit. Just keep that in mind as a reason why you might feel victemized by people who feel like you're stepping on their toes. Everybody does this, not just the braille note crowd. Sure, the people on the braille note list can be a little zellotrous about the braille note. But at least the braille note has a list. You go somewhere else to talk about other PDAs the way you did about the braille note, I guaranty you you'll get the same reaction from them that you did here. It's the same everywhere. Heck, that's not even limmited to notetakers. Try asking what the listers feel about Macs on a Microsoft email list and see where that gets you; and that's for a product that costs a fraction that these PDAs do. Making your purchasing decision based on the actions of its user base, rather than on the product itself, seems a bit counter-intuitive to me--and lastly, as someone who has been around many a forum, let me say that those were not flames. I know flames when I see them and those weren't. If anything, your response has been far more confrontational and PERSONAL than theirs were.
