I don't know who to blame, HumanWare or Microsoft. I have discovered files which are rich text or Word will always contain those nasty format markers. However, ASCII text and WP 5.1 files don't. Since I detest Word, I think I'll blame Microsoft.
Now, if you want to save a document so you can edit it with the BN without seeing format markers and also read it on your PC, save it as a WP 5.1 file. Many programs will still read them and these programs can also save them back to WP 5.1 so you can read them in that format on the PC. If you still have an old PC with WP 5.1 on it, then you're blessed. If you create a Keyword document from scratch, you won't see any format markers. They only appear in Word and rtf documents. But if you import an rtf or Word document into KeyWord, you'll see those nasty format markers. If you want to save the line breaks in an ASCII text file, be sure to review the options before opening it and open and save the document as lines instead of paragraphs.
