Hi Everyone,
Firstly, I would like to thank Ronda for understanding
that I was not trying to be negative with my
observations. I know what ideally I would like in a
notetaker, and I was attempting to share my thoughts
on the Braille Note. However, I did not realize that
the way I express myself is negative, and many others
seem to be very defensive that anything that did not
glowingly praise the braille note. I now realize that
this list is only for people who are exclusively and
unreasonably in many cases, devoted to the Braille
Note. Ronda understood that I was only making
observations, and gave me her input on why I was
receiving impressions that were less than favourable.
Making informed decisions about which piece of
equipment would both benefit me as far as its
abilities, but also which is worth thousands of
dollars of either my money or funding is concerned is
also not something to be taken lightly, or a decision
which I am content to be led by the nose into making.
This bullying and defensive attitude by both Roger and
Jim is definitely discouraging, and does not make me
want anything to do with the Braille Note's family of
products, or its users. On any other mailing list,
your one-sided, childish behaviour would not be put up
with. You might be asking what I mean when I say
childish, because according to you, I am the person
who is being unnecessarily negative, and causing
disharmony on this list. I mean the attitude that says
"its you against us, because you dared point out what
you see as a short-coming with our product." I have
nothing else to say, and was not going to post
anything else, until Jim's longwinded rant, combined
with Roger's showed me how unprofessional and
discouraging this truly is. Roger, from what I have
read, repairs Braille Notes, and upgrades them. What
he had to say definitely spelled out what he thought
of anything less than desirable that is voiced by
anyone in the wrong way about this product. Coming
from someone who works for Humanware and who posts
frequently (the last comment goes for both of you) is
the final straw for me. THinking that your behaviour
would encourage me to want anything to do with the
Braille Note, or any other person who dares question
the function of this product, should make an effort to
only see things their way, and no one else's. That is
obviously too much to ask of the majority of you.
I joined this list with the intention of learning what
other users thoughts were about the Braille Note,
thinking naively that people have open minds, and
could take opinions constructively. I will not be
making that mistake again. Other mailing lists I am
on, regardless of their topics would not allow for
such blatent bullying, or flaming.
Thank you to those who at least tried to see my point
of view, and answer my questions. There are a precious
handful of you.
Sincerely,
Kim
