Thanks, Jonathan. I was so excited I forgot 4 and 5, (grin).

The music was louder than your voice and I'd rather hear you than it, (grin).

Hi Terri. Oh, you didn't like the music at the beginning? I thought long
and hard about that music! But as long as you like the product...

1. We will update the manuals on the web site to include BrailleNote
mPower, I don't believe they are up there yet. The audio presentation is
not a tutorial, it's just to show you what's new. All BrailleNote mPowers
ship with a CD which covers both BT and QT commands in an audio tutorial
format. So you get more of me on there I'm afraid.

2. If you upgrade your software but don't do a Braille display transplant,
you will not get the audio recorder, streaming media, Bluetooth, USB, and
SD support. Obviously there are a lot of things we can do to KeySoft that
are not hardware specific, but it is certainly true that the SMA releases
for BrailleNote mPower, because of the hardware, can be much more
delicious.
3. Absolutely. We've continued to make improvements to KeyMail and the fast processor makes one heck of a difference. KeyWeb, similarly, is updated and
faster. There is basic handling of pop-ups now, an add link as favourite
option, and general stability improvements.

6. 6? what happened to 4 and 5 <grin>. KeyWord is much faster, see Jeff
Molzo's excellent post about his use of BrailleNote mPower.
7. After a transplant, we keep the old unit. So it's a trade-in of sorts.

I tried listening to the audio presentation and it stopped several times
because my dialup connection is so slow. What I heard sounded fine, except

for the music at the beginning.

Now, I'll jump in with some questions:

1. I prefer a QT keyboard but the audio tour didn't give any QT commands.
Is there an onsite manual I can look at?

2. If I choose to upgrade my software but not my hardware, what features
would I lose?

3. Do Keymail and Keyweb work better than they do in 5.1 or 6.1?

6. What improvements have been made to KeyWord?

7. If I should decide to transfer my braille display to an MPower, what
happens to the old unit?

I guess that's about all for now.

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks. I went to look for the audio demonstration, but was unable to
find
it. Did I miss it? If not, I'm certain it will be up soon.
Best Regards,

Les

Hi Les, and thanks for the congratulations. We've enjoyed working on it,
but
we enjoy being able to show it even more.

There is one PCMCIA slot, one compact flash slot, and one SD slot.

There is no change to synchronisation in this version of KeySoft. All the
best.

Hi Jonathan,

First, congratulations on what sounds like a truly exciting [product. I
likely missed this in the announcement, but I assume there will be one or
two flash card slots? Also, what about the ability to synchronize with
Outlook. In addition to existing capability with Contacts and
Appointments,
will it be possible in the initial release to synchronize with Outlook
e-mail, notes and tasks? Also, will this capability find its way into
the
existing BrailleNotes?
Best Regards,

Les

Hi Lisa, you're quite correct, when the BrailleNote PK was launched, I
did
advise people who already own BrailleNotes not to panic and that their
existing BrailleNotes had a very promising future. Now you know why.
Obviously we can't give hardware away or we'd be out of business.
However,
it is very rare indeed for PDA manufacturers to offer people any kind of
path to trade in their equipment. Generally, if you want the latest and
greatest, then you buy a new machine. But we recognise that these
machines
cost much more. So for well under half the cost of a brand new
BrailleNote
PK, you can have a brand new Braillenote mPower if you are an existing
BrailleNote customer. And if that's not an option for you, then we're
still
going to produce software for the machine you have. So I think we've been

as
fair as we can. So I can assure you that even if all you can do is update
the software on what you have, good things are coming. That's the
HumanWare
way.
