Yes, a more robust media player would be great.  Inclusion of a shuffle mode
would be favourite.  I'm also wondering whether there couldn't finally be a
user-replaceable, external battery system.  Field recorders by Sound
Devices, for instance, employ a range of Sony detachable cam-corder
batteries, to be chosen depending upon the battery life you need.  The one
thing which stops me using the media player more than I do is the way it
chews through the battery.
