Hi Alex,
The problem with the Western Digital Passport is a known issue that
will probably be addressed in a future release of keysoft. The unit
is not actually locking up when you ask for file information. If you
let it sit for about ten minutes, it will eventually present the information.

Hello List:
I am considering getting a Western Digital HD for my BNMPBT. My
friend has one, and I have used it a few times (it is 60 or 80
GB). Whenever I try to get information about it by pressing SPACE
with I in the drive list, the unit locks up and will only recover if
I disconnect the HD. Any suggestions?
Next, what file system works best for not only USB, but CF or SD as
well: FAT or FAT32? Is one better for one type of media? I don't
want to try it with that HD because I doubt my friend would
appreciate me erasing all his data.
When streaming media, has anyone else noticed it drop off,
especially when it is a radio station or a long stream like that? I
have done everything: left the page open, moved to other tasks, even
had that stream plus the radio plus a 20+ song M3U playlist
going. Sometimes it streams fine, sometimes it doesn't, never
depending on how little or much I tax it.
I have noticed a strange thing: my unit seems to hate hibernate
mode. I will be reading a book with speech in bed, and I will stop
the book so I don't wake up two hours later and hear the end (though
I don't always make it) and sometimes I will forget to turn it
off. It will hibernate, but sometimes as little as a few minutes
later it will wake up again, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed to face
whatever I demand of it. This just seems like strange behavior. (I
wish there were a way to control when the unit goes into hibernate,
as long audio tracks cannot be marked, and therefore you lose your
place if the unit falls asleep in the middle of one).
If you actually bothered to read all the way down here, thanks for
your time and any answers I may get,
Alex
