This is Joseph. In case of the braille terminal, you have to shut down JAWS
before you start the terminal. After you select braille terminal, start
JAWS. On the remote sunthesizer, the thing is caused by the JAWS dictionary
file (*.jdf). I hope this information may help you.

Thanks, everyone. My remote synthesizer now works, though with a pronounced
delay; it seems better for listening to documents than listening to what one
types. Anyway, my Braille terminal still remains blank, no matter what I
do. Another strange thing: after using the remote synthesizer, my BN, even
in writing this email, pronounces "A" as "uh". Strange.
