Michelle,

It is a positive step. I have no doubt you will make use of it, when the occasion arise making face-to-face communication necessary.

Good luck and keep reaching out!

Dear Kathleen

That's great. At least I know that if I ever need to converse
with a
deaf-blind person, who I can contact for directions.

Cheers!

Michele

Heelo Kathryn and Michelle.

I wanted to write to you both privately. However, when you
mentioned Freedom Scientifi's TDD Package, it occurred tom e that
you may not be aware of an added feature of this system.
Specifically, it includes face-to-face communication access.
What that means is that a person who doesn't know Fingerspelling
or Sign Language, can use the Pac Mate for communicating with a
deaf-blind consumer.

The good news--and Jonathan Mosen and Jim Halliday of Humanware
and Kim Casey of Sendero Group, have helped me realize it,--is
that it is already possible to do the same with the M-Power.
There are two ways:
The first is using a USB portabe keyboard, with or, without,
speech output.
The second is using the same keyboard with the Palm View.
(Humanware has software for that device which is free for
downloading.)

It was a real blessing for me to have the Usb Keyboard to use
with my M-Power while in the Hospital and during follow-up
sessions with the Surgeon. I've also used it with hearing folks
here at home.

Good night and thanks for your vote! (smile)

P.s. Michelle, thanks for pointing out to Joseph Lee that a
separate TDD device is impractical and, in my opinion, unfair! KC
