Hi list!
Actually, I have used dialup for streaming especially Acb radio.
Sometimes it breaks up, but usually after a while, you get a
pretty steady stream.
I don't do it as much on my bn now, because I have the download
file problem, and if I want to change stations, I have to do a
reset.
I also have always had trouble connecting to acb radio café on my
bn which is an mPower bt.
It says "loading media, then if I'm lucky, plays a note or two,
stops and goes back to the "your connection to the blind
community" or whatever that prompt says.
All the other stations work fine if I do my resets.
We only have a dialup connection, and my wife listens to "Desert
Skies on acb radio without much trouble.
Anyone have an idea why Café is giving me trouble while all the
others are coming in ok on the bn?
Thanks for the help.
Richard

dial-up
Peggy,
The reason the stream was breaking up when you were using
dial-up, is because streaming is only meant to be used aon a
broadband connection, it is nearly impossible to stream anything
using dial-up--so you will have to live without your ACB radio,
if you are using dial-up.

Subject: [Braillenote] Streaming with the BrailleNote and dial-up
Hi, all. The last time I was in Portland and only had access to
dial-up, I
tried streaming with the BrailleNote, and it kept breaking up. I
was using
a phone number I'd gotten years ago from Earthlink for Portland.
I'm
wondering if it would be worthwhile to see if I could get a
different
dial-up number and see if streaming improves, or if I can only
stream with a
DSL connection, and just have to live without my ACB Radio and
Dr. Demento
fixes while I'm on vacation.
