I use the Enabling Technologies Embossers. You may need to get a bluetooth
adapter which connects to a parallel port or the infrared adapter which
connects in the same place. I'm surprised the USB port doesn't work but
then maybe turning both devices on and off again might get it to work. That
is the best I know for the moment.

Subject: [Braillenote] Tiger Embosser
Dear brailleNote Listserv,
I just received a new embosser, the Tiger Max. This is the embosser that
is able to emboss both standard Braille and in additional do graphics. Of
course, the graphic portion of it would need to be done using a PC, as the
BrailleNote does not support graphics, because of the filteration of the
KeySoft platform.
Here is the problem I am having with the Tiger Max embosser. I am able to
use the drivers and such that came with the embosser to install it onto my
laptop and have the two devices up and running. By the way I am using a
USB to parallel converter that came with the embosser, I am assuming it is
the one that HumanWare also sells. When I plug the USB portion into the
BrailleNote, I get the message "card not recognize," I still get this
message after performing a reset. I also tried unplugging the parallel
portion from the embosser so only the USB portion is connected to the
BrailleNote, I still get that same exact message, "card not recognized." I
thought that the purpose of the USB to parallel converter is to have the
ability to use devices that still use parallel ports via the USB port. If
anyone has also encountered this issue and have successfully found some
sort of work-around, it would be greatly appreciated if you do share your
word of wisdom.
Thank you, awating your response.
Kevin
