I'll certainly do that, and let me know how you get on to.

Have you received your mPower yet BTW? I'm a little behind on my mail, so may well have missed it.

If you know the virtual com port number, then tell JAWS to use
that port. It
should work. But yes, try it through serial first, then see how
it goes. I
plan to use it as a Braille display because of my partial
deafness and thus
I would like to feel what's on the screen rather than hearing it
all the
time, which of course does your ears no good at all. Anyway good
luck, and
please let me know how you get on. Look forward to hear from
you.

Hi Chris, I've actually set the virtual Com port, but whether
JAWS is
opening it or not is another thing. I suppose an idea would be
to try a
serial connection, and see if any output is generated from that.
I'll keep
you posted.

I'm thinking the BT could be extremely useful, especially for
tasks like
programming. Not sure if you've had any experience in this
field, but I find
hearing all sorts of punctuation can often get tedious, and one
needs to be
aware of the punctuation as it could be the difference between a
piece of
code compiling, and not.

Cheers,

Mark

Most likely the PC. In order to use the Mpower or PK as a
bluetooth
refreshable display, you need to add a virtual com (serial) port
to your PC.
You do this through your bluetooth software. Once that's set up,
you will
then need to request your screen reader to use the port you added
as that is
required in order to drive the display. Hope that helps.
Please let me know how you get on with this, as I'm getting an
Mpower and
there will be times when I'll need to use it as a display.
Thanks, and I
look forward to hear from you.

Subject: [Braillenote] Braille Terminal

Hi all. Does anyone have any experience with using the Braille
Terminal on
the mPower or PK, with either Bluetooth or Serial connection? I
believe I've
established a BT connection on my PK, as the device is omitting a
short
beep, and KS reporting "Braille Terminal". However I'm not
getting any
Braille output, and I'm not sure at which end of the equation I'm
going
wrong...the PC, or the BN.

I've consulted both the JFW 7.1 and HW documentation and believe
I've
followed it to the word, but my misunderstanding something can't
be out
ruled.

Cheers,

Mark
