Hi Tiffany I hope I've understood you correctly; that your friend wanted to save a Braille Keyword document as a Microsoft Word document so she could load it onto her PC.
I would suggest that she does not do the "save as" until her document is completely finished and edited, unless she wants to do some of this from her PC. When she re-opens the document to check that it has been save, the announcement that computer Braille si required is simply to make it possible for her to do any other editing she needs to do, without changing the document type. The term "text" here simply means that it is not a Braille document. That's why I would suggest that your friend do all the editing in grade 2 Braille if she doesn't want to have to type with computer Braille which is, as far as I'm concerned, very annoying. I hope this has clarified things a bit for you. I've only recently discovered this feature of the BN, thanks to various members on this list. Good luck! I have a friend who I was helping today with her BN. She is a student and wanted to change the file type to a Word document so she can save to her thumb drive and then put it in a computer when she needs to. However, this is what happened and where the problem lies. We switched the setting to save as a Word Document, then went to keyword to test it out. When we created a file it said this is a text document and computer braille is required. Why would anyone want to write in computer braille while typing a document? Furthermore, we tried to change it to grade 2 braille and it said you are editing a text document and computer braille can only be used for this. Can someone please clarify and help. So is there a way to create a document on the BN in keyword and then open and modify the file on a computer without changing the file type every time? If there is a way can someone pleas let me know so I can help my friend.
