The term "Statistical Functions" is actually not as complex as it sounds. They are basically calculations you can make based on a set of numbers called a Data Set. On the BrailleNote, you need to go into the calculator and turn data entry on (consult the manual, or ask, if you need instructions on how to do this). Once you have data entry turned on, you can type any number and press enter. You will see the number you just typed, followed by "N is" and the number of numbers that are in the current data set; the letter N stands for the number of numbers in the data set and will be used throughout. The following operations can now be undertaken from the "Statistical Functions Review List" (formulae provided in brackets where known): * Sample Size (N) * Mean (Dataset Total/N) * Median ((N+1)/2) * Mode(s) (most common number(s) in dataset) * Minimum (lowest number in dataset) * Maximum (highest number in dataset) * Population Standard Deviation (formula unknown) * Sample Standard Deviation (formula unknown) * Sum of values (dataset total) * Sum of Squares ((First number in dataset * First number in dataset) + (Second Number in Dataset * Second Number in Dataset) + (Xth Number in Dataset * Xth Number in Dataset)) I've probably not explained this too well, and if anyone could post the formulae for Standard Deviation I would be grateful.
