another way you can deal with messages is to have that set to delete messages from server if in the trash. I have just gone into the set-up for receiving mail and when you press help on that delete message from server if doesn't give you the option but if you hit I then it comes up. This means you can't clear out your trash until you have checked your mail a second time so that you can delete your messages off the server but hopefully this way you won't loose your messages and you won't have a hole lot of messages left on your server.
