It looks like mostly what they did was add a prominent copyright
notice. The file you get is still completely open .brf files. Still no
DRM or anything - copy the file from your PC to your BN to your
Kurzweil 1000 installation and back again. I think mostly what they're
doing is covering themselves in the same way a software license
agreement does; if you don't read it, it's not their fault, because it
was very prominent  and not hidden somewhere. Besides any prominent
illegal sharing of files - even ones converted to text first - would
be pretty easy to find.
