Hi Rhonda, Thank you so much, your instructions were excellent and I followed them to the letter, but alas, I'm afraid I still can't open my file! I'm so grateful to you for trying to help me and I hope you're not feeling too bad. Just out of curiosity, I'll talk to a few Windows experts to see if there's some way of hacking my way into the file via the computer, but if not, I'll just put it down to experience. After all, it could be far worse!
