Hello, you said nou can copy an email to a keyword file by pressing backspace with s and it should say file is unprotected before backspacing twice and selecting the directory. In my case when I opened the email, it said file is protected and I can't save it to a keyjord file. How do I proceed? I'm using v7.2 build 47.

Cheers, Steve

Hello,
From the main menu, press f for the flash disk, then p for
protect and then it
will ask for the folder and drive and then the file.
When you find the file you want to protect, press enter, it will
say file is
unprotected, press p.
As for copying a folder to a drive, if you have keysoft 7.2 you
can do this.
Again, from the main menu, press f for the file manager, then f
for the folder
manager, and then press c to copy. It will then ask you for the
drive that the
folder is on when you find it, press enter, it will ask you which
drive to copy
to, when you find the drive, press enter and it will then copy
the entire folder
to that drive. It will leave a copy of the folder on the
origional drive.

For your question about the keymail program, if you want to copy
a e-mail you
receive to the keyword program, what you would want to do, is
when the e-mail is
open, press backspace with s and it will say file has not been
modified or
something like that, and you can then backspace twie and it will
give you the
list of drives, then press the letter of the drive you want and
it will ask you
for the folder and then it will say open a new document when
finished, say no and
it will save it and put you back in the open e-mail.
I hope this helps you,
Robert Stigile

Subject: [Braillenote] questions and thoughts

I have several questions and thoughts today, and maybe I should
place them in
separate emails; but, here it goes anyway.

Q: Is there a way to password protect a file?

Q: Is there a way to move an attachment from email directly to a
keyword file
whithout having to copy and paste it?

Q: Is there a way to copy entire folder to say a flashcard
without having to do
each file individually?

T: It would seem to me that if Humanware wants to stop offering
upgrades to the
BrailleNote classic, they would also offer a way to help those of
us who might
want to do the transplant, a way to finance the move. I do
understand the
reasoning for no longer doing upgrades, and someday the Empower
will go the same
way. However, the attitude that the rehab agencies and thus the
government, thus
you and I with our taxes will pay for it is rather cold. They
admit that the
price for assistive tech is high. My wife and I would consider
seriously, the
idea of financing this move. However, most banks do not offer
such programs.
They really do not like lending money on these types of items.
And who can
really blame them?

T: It seems to me that a nice program for the Empower or PK, or
Note Classic
would be a barcode scanning program. Maybe this is technically
above what I
understand, but it seems to me, that if a gps program can be
adapted to work on
the Note platforms, then the scanning program for barcodes could
be as well. The
main rival for the Note has the capability to do this, and I must
admit, it makes
it tempting. And there was a recent offer to make this a very
real possibility.
