Okay, let's clear this up once and for all. I don't have the bt
commands in front of me, so the qt commands will have to do.

There are 3 ways of varying the volume. Two of these will effect
speech and also media files while the third will effect only the
media files.

As has been mentioned, within the options menu and review voices,
there is an option for setting kind of a master volume control.
This can be set from 1 to 5. It is probably already set to 5, but
it's a good idea to make sure and change it to 5 if it isn't
already.

Next is the command which Rhonda mentioned with the function and
period or comma to raise or lower volume respectively. These two
commands will have an effect on the volume of speech from the
braillenote and will also effect the volume of media files being
played.

Then, there is a third level control which will vary the volume of
media files only. On the qt, control equals will raise the volume
and control minus will lower it. Again, this final control only
varies the volume of the media player.

So, if you really want to get the maximum volume from a media file,
you need to turn up all 3 controls mentioned here to full volume.

The only problem with that is that the speech may be a bit loud.
So, you have to experiment with the combination of the function
period and comma and the control equals minus to see what works
best for you.

If you are used to the volume control in windows on the pc, it
works in a similar way with multiple controls having an effect on
playback volume levels.

So, if you are getting low volume from a media file, there are 3
controls to check to be sure they are set for best usage.
