Hi Lee,
This is not off-topic at all (at least on my
point of view).
Yeah, we had a discussion about this a few
weeks ago. I've used both (on my case, a
BrailleNote mPower and a Korean version of
Braille Sense). I've found the following:
* It seems that BrailleNote is a bit faster
than Braille Sense.
* BrailleNote is useful for people who needs
to complete their work with text-based
method, whereas Braille Sense uses somewhat
Windows-like approach. So if your mother is
comfortable with Windows, I recommend Braille
Sense. If not, I recommend BrailleNote.
* Unlike BrailleNote, Braille Sense only has
one model with the 32-cell braille display.
BrailleNote has both shorter (18-cell) and
32-cell display.
* On the Braille Sense, you can use the
scroll buttons on either side of the display
to move the display. On the BrailleNote, you
can use the front thumb keys to move the
display.
These are experiences that I have with both
units (I know that some other folks have
better expwiences with both units). As far
as my expwiences are concerned, I would say
that BrailleNote is better.
Cheers,
Joseph

Subject: [Braillenote] BrailleNote BT and
BrailleSense comparison?
Hello all,
I've been doing research on notetakers for my
mother. I'm still torn
between the BrailleNote BT and the
BrailleSense. Does anyone on the
list have experience with both, and would you
mind sharing that experience?
If this is considered off-topic, please email
me privately.
Thank you,
Lee
